This is my first trip since eating intuitively. While I don’t want food and eating to consume too much of my trip prep, I also like to be prepared.

I eat differently than I had. My portions are smaller. I’m hungry more frequently. I know better what foods sustain me and what foods make my tummy feel icky.

I also know that we’re in for some long flights and days exploring.

I looked up what kinds of food I can take on planes with me. According to Canadian Air Transport Security Authority you can take foods like granola bars, chocolate, nuts, cheese, apples, and pretzels. If you are going to another country it is best consume the food before landing or it “will be subject to the regulations of the country you are visiting”. Some people suggest buying your snacks after going through airport security. Think I’ll try taking a collection of snacks from home and see what happens. If I have to toss it, I have to toss it.

We are on a cruise this trip. Days on ship. Days on shore.

Food is everywhere on the ship so days at sea will be no problem.

I’ve read that some people take snacks from the ship with them when they go on shore. They had ideas like raiding the breakfast buffet and the ice cream toppings bar before heading out for the day. Think I’ll take some snack baggies with me and give it a try.

And finally, I am giving myself permission to spend the money and indulge on the various pastries and treats I can find in the cities we are visiting. Truly immerse myself in all the cities have to offer. What a delicious idea! Giggle.
